Put your photos in albums and show the people you choose

Redactor Images keeps your photos in albums: drag pictures onto the page, leaf through them full screen, invite people by email or open an album to anyone with the link, no sign-in needed.

Uploading

Drop the photos in: each takes its place at once

  1. Drag pictures anywhere on the album page or paste them from the clipboard: the page shows which album they will land in.

  2. Each photo takes its place in the grid at once, and a thin ring on it shows how much has arrived.

  3. Your browser makes a light WebP copy and reads the photo’s colour, so the grid opens fast. A photo can be up to 10 MB; the browser scales a larger JPEG, PNG or WebP down to 4096 pixels.

Albums take JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF.

The album

A photo’s colour arrives before the picture

  1. While a photo loads, its place is already filled with its colour: the page does not jump or flash empty cells.

  2. Even rows keep every frame’s proportions: nothing is cropped, and no file names sit under the photos.

  3. Above the grid runs a strip of every photo’s colour, in order. Click the strip and the photo of that colour opens.

Viewing

Every photo full screen, in its own light

  1. A photo opens out of the grid to fill the screen, and everything around it takes on its light.

  2. Leaf with the arrow keys or a swipe; Esc or a swipe down closes it. Along the bottom runs a strip of the album’s photos.

  3. The file name sits at the top; the date, size and dimensions at the bottom. The original downloads with a button or the D key, and the owner can make the photo the cover.

Access

Show an album to the people you choose

  1. Invite someone by email: “Views” sees and downloads, “Adds” also uploads and deletes photos. They sign in with their email and see the album.

  2. Or turn on the link for everyone: at its address on page.redactor.dev anyone views and downloads the album without signing in, and new photos show up there at once.

  3. Turn the link off or issue a new one, and the old one stops working at once.

With no invitations and no link, only you see the album.

And also

What else is in Redactor Images

  • An album without a dialog

“New album” opens a field right in the library: a name, Enter, and you can drop photos in. The N key does the same.

    • N: new album
    • Enter: create
    • Esc: cancel
  • Edit in place

An album’s name and description are edited right on its page. The cover is the photo you choose, or else the latest one.

    • Name
    • Description
    • Cover
  • Deleting with a way back

A deleted photo disappears at once, yet for five seconds you can bring it back. An album is deleted only after you type its name.

    • Undo
    • Delete for good
  • Paper and graphite

A light and a dark theme, Russian and English, and keys for the main things: U adds photos, D downloads the original.
